Applications are invited for the positions of Senior Research Fellow (SRF) and CSIR/INSPIRE Junior
Research Fellow (JRF) in the Department of Science and Technology (DST) funded research project. 

Selected candidates will work on the genomic and transcriptomic characterization of colon cancer which
includes high-throughput sequencing (exome/RNA-sequencing) and molecular techniques for the
functional characterization of the genes in colon cancer. 

Candidates should have the capability to analyse
next generation sequencing (NGS) data with high-end computational approaches in Linux platform and
required to be skilled with any of the programming languages like R/python. Candidates should be willing
to pursue their Ph.D. degree as a regular full-time scholar at Cancer Institute (WIA). 

Essential Qualifications 

Senior Research Fellow 

• M.Tech in relevant branch of Life sciences with a valid GATE score (OR) 

• Master’s degree in the relevant branch of Life sciences with two-years of research experience. 

CSIR/INSPIRE -Junior Research Fellow 

• Master’s degree in the relevant branch of Life sciences with valid UGC/CSIR-NET qualification/
DST-INSPIRE fellowship/ ICMR/other relevant qualification. 

Desirables: The candidate should have prior experience in high-end computational approaches in handling
NGS data in Linux-platform, skilled with programming languages like R/python will be preferred. 

Age limit: 28 years as on the date of selection, and relaxation as per DST and Government of India norms. 

Emoluments: CSIR-NET/INSPIRE fellowship candidates as per the norms of the DST/CSIR. SRF– as per
the norms of DST (Rs. 35,000 +24% HRA)
